Growing in Torah

Grounded in the Word.

Bearing Fruit for the Kingdom.

Grafted in the Vine.

Growing in Torah is a discipleship and training program for college-age adults that teaches farming through Scripture and Scripture through farming.

Hosted at Safe Haven Sustainable Farms in Central California, GIT was created to help young men and women grow in faith, work ethic, servanthood, practical life skills, and a deeper understanding of the Creator’s ways.

From the beginning, the Creator placed man in a garden to tend and keep it. At Growing in Torah, students step into that same pattern by learning to care for the land, serve one another, study Scripture, and grow in the habits of righteousness found throughout creation.

Through daily work, worship, study, prayer, and community life, students are given the opportunity to slow down, be trained, and allow the Father to cultivate lasting fruit in their lives, serve one another, study Scripture, and grow in the habits of righteousness found throughout creation.

What is Growing in Torah?

Growing in Torah is built around a simple but powerful idea:‍ ‍the garden can disciple us.

The full Growing in Torah program has traditionally been a seven-month experience where students live, work, learn, and serve on the farm.

During their time at Safe Haven, students are exposed to hands-on training, biblical instruction, agricultural skills, community service, Hebrew language, life skills, worship, and leadership development.

The goal is not only to teach practical skills, but to help students become grounded in the Word, strengthened in faith, and prepared to serve their families, communities, and the Kingdom.

What Students Learn

Farming Through Scripture.

Scripture Through Farming.

At Growing in Torah, the farm is not just the setting. It is part of the teaching.

Students learn through planting, pruning, harvesting, caring for animals, preparing food, repairing what is broken, serving the community, and working alongside others.

In the process, the physical work of the farm becomes a picture of spiritual growth. The same principles that help a garden become fruitful also teach us how to tend our hearts, strengthen our character, and bear fruit for the Kingdom.

Support the Future of Growing in Torah

Even while the student program is paused, the vision continues.

Your support helps prepare the way for future students, strengthen the farm, provide resources, maintain the campus, and continue the work of discipling the next generation.

When you give to Growing in Torah, you are helping create a place where young people can be trained in faith, servanthood, work ethic, Scripture, and sustainable living.
